So you want to be happy…
The times I most find myself wishing to be happy, are when I’m not.
I’m guessing I’m not alone in that ;)
It’s when I’m going “through the ringer,” having a “when it rains, it pours” kind of week.. month.. or year… that I feel like I’m drowning in the discomfort.
I’m starting this blog as a way to share real stories, real science and real solutions. My goal is for you to be able to relate, give yourself grace because you’re not alone, and spark some hope that things can get better.
One thing you won’t find here is AI.
It’s all me, baby!
One thing you will find here, as seen above, is puns and metaphors. It’s how my brain thinks and how I make connections, so if you don’t like them, probably a good time to find a new blog :D
Okay.. so happiness. At our baseline, we’re supposed to be happy. Right? ….. WRONG! It’s actually not our “natural state.”
Just like the seasons come and go, our emotions are constantly changing. Even though it seems like it’s always winter in Minnesota.. it’s actually not the “baseline.” Thank GOD!
So happiness is an emotion, just like grief and frustration, worry and elation! None of these stick around forever.
Experiencing the full range of emotions is part of the human experience.
Read that again if you need to…
I don’t know about you, but it kinda lets me breathe a little deeper just to know the pressure’s off.
That I’m not “supposed” to always be happy. That having all these emotions are normal.
What you’ll find if you keep reading this blog are little snippets of what I’ve learned along my journey as a nurse and wellness coach.
How you can find TRUE happiness, which isn’t really just “happiness,” but rather a sense deep satisfaction with your life and all it’s seasons, even the hard winters and the muddy springs.
How to get out of the rip current of uncomfy thoughts and emotions that drag you into a sea of uncontrolled…anger, worry or grief…
How to find out what really matters to you in life and start living in a way that makes you feel alive.
I hope you’ll come back to read more! Maybe share it with a friend that comes to mind as you read.
And if you’re so inclined, book a coaching session with me, even if it’s just to see what the hype is all about.. the first one’s free after all, so what can you lose?
